My fears of using Make-Up!!!

As a young girl who grew up in a village and being raised by a mother who did not use makeup at all, I grew up with an extreme phobia of make up. I know, I know, this sounds really weird.......but you see, if you have a mother who tells you that the reason why she doesn't use make-up is because she doesn't want to loose he skin complexion, you sort of start to think and eventually believe that make-up is not good for anybody.

I remember when i was about 16 years old, my mom's friend came to visit her and she had really, really bad spots on her face. I never sit with my mom when she has visitors but as soon as she left I asked her what happened to her friend's face!!!!......I still remember that day like it was yesterday. My mom turned around and said "That's what happens when you use make-up!". From that day onwards, I never had a single desire to use make-up.

Of course this didn't last long. Fast forward to 2 and 1/2 years later.....I was a first year student in varsity just about to turn 18 and I shaved/trimmed my ebrows. I had to give them a little volume by using eyebrow pencil though....Have really light eyebrows :(. As you can imagine my mother was not very pleased with me. But this didn't stop me, I still went ahead and experimented with make-up...at least tried...LOL...and with time I kinda took it further and bought more make-up products :)

I am now 24 years old and i'm still a little bid scared to dive in - completely - and use make-up. I now use a little bit of foundation, eyeliner, Mascara(which I love), face powder, lipstick, and eye shadows. I am still very new to make-up and so far it's looking great. :) yaaaaaaaaay

Oh and surprisingly enough,my mother has also started using make-up and she loves it (funny how things change as you grow older).

As a little extra,I have attached below a Get ready with me video where I applied a little bit of the make-up products I use. Enjoy :)

Hope you guys will have a fabulous weekend...
xoxo
