<br />
It has been a little while since I shared a recipe post so what better way than to share this amazingly yummy Pumpkin Cupcakes with Vanilla frosting recipe.<br />
Personally, I prefer recipes that call for very little ingredients, super easy to follow and the ones that produce deliciously yummy treats. This recipe is just that :).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDqujaCc2rCmrEI3eEqYnFM5T9a6sZ6MKTu93jc0SY2dUfT_WNuzx7b8j9Ur4DkQuoijtjvWxm-Ie0BiLJXzNG_ujE7IP0-p2m08VnltRxsTTnEZSPn93mFVdyEPoZFGuYgs55fxE7Gj8/s1600/DSC_9670.JPG.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDqujaCc2rCmrEI3eEqYnFM5T9a6sZ6MKTu93jc0SY2dUfT_WNuzx7b8j9Ur4DkQuoijtjvWxm-Ie0BiLJXzNG_ujE7IP0-p2m08VnltRxsTTnEZSPn93mFVdyEPoZFGuYgs55fxE7Gj8/s400/DSC_9670.JPG.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>For the cupcakes you will need:</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<ul style="text-align: center;">
<li> 1 cup all-purpose flour</li>
<li> 3/4 teaspoon baking powder</li>
<li> 3/4 teaspoon baking soda</li>
<li> 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon</li>
<li> 1/4 teaspoon salt</li>
<li> 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg</li>
<li>1 cup brown sugar </li>
<li> 2 eggs, lightly beaten</li>
<li> 2/3 cup cooked and pureed pumpkin</li>
<li> 1/3 cup vegetable oil </li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Optional</div>
<ul style="text-align: center;">
<li> 1/3 cup golden raisins</li>
<li>1/4 cup chopped walnuts </li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Method</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">1. Preheat oven to 180 degress celcius and line your 12 muffin pan with 12 cupcake cups; set aside.<br />2. In a medium bowl stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg. In a large bowl combine eggs, pumpkin, brown sugar, and vegetable oil; whisk until smooth. Add flour mixture to pumpkin mixture, one-third at a time, stirring just until combined after each addition. Stir in raisins and walnuts if using. Spoon batter into prepared cupcake cups, filling each two-thirds full.<br />3. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the centres comes out clean. Remove pan from oven and set aside for the cupcakes to cool down for 5 minutes. Then remove the cupcakes from the pan and let them cool completely before frosting them.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">For the frosting, you will need:</span></span></b></div>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;">1 & 1/2 cup icing sugar</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;">3 Tspn Butter</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;">Milk </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;">1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;">Pinch of Salt</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> (Optiona)</span></li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Method</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">1. In a bowl put in the butter then using a hand held electric mixer or whisk; beat the butter until it's light and fluffy.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">2. Add the icing sugar and continue to mix until it resembles bread crumbs.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">3. Add a little pinch of salt and continue to mix. (PS: you need only a pinch, be careful not to use too much salt).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">4. Add the vanilla essence and mix. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">5. Then add milk to the mixture. Do it one spoon at a time and mix. Do this until you reach your desired consistency.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">6. Once you reached your consistency, mix the icing on high for about a min. (This is my personal preference. It makes the icing more creamy and very nice).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">When all this is done and you have your icing in the piping bag, you are ready to frost your cupcakes. This recipe is so fun to do with little ones - then again, what baking recipe isn't,right! My almost 3 year old is seriously obsessed with baking. Especially the mixing of ingredients parts. Definitely give it a try and you won't regret it.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Enjoy and have fun.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">xoxo</span></div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">"Hi i'm Dory! I suffer from short term memory loss"</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Every person that knows me well also knows that i'm not a very crafty person [I fake it pretty well though..LOL]. But every once in a while when I stumble across something interesting or a super cute and lovely movie, I challenge myself to bring out that non existent crafty little girl inside me and I have a little fun. Lucky for me, I have an almost 3 year old little girl who is legit into anything that gets her a little messy but produces cute results. Fun and games, right!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So this past weekend we went on a Mother-Daughter date to watch Finding Dory. It was Kbear's first time in a movie cinema and I was both excited and nervous. Excited because finally my little girl is not so little anymore and she gets to experience some exciting stuff, but also very nervous because we were both coming down with flu and I wasn't quite sure that little Miss K would be willing to sit for 90mins without being a little agitated. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well, the odds must have been really on my side because all went smooth and she was rather very well behaved. Surprise, surprise!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So when we got home, we were all on the Finding Dory high, thee cutest movie ever!, and we decided to get a little crafty. And of course i'm here to share just how super easy this was.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu_ph6H2rM5iqkdoC2LVriyilQRqpR8sbJ6zLQ5FNNiBCwFPkrTtW8Nb5Lha53WZYwp6-ojH5XIYw84od4eR14bk8GsUo-aC3aSghVBC5_sf_F7Z_TbN9Na1JVo3-9TqY7Ki9_FXvGRkA/s1600/PicMonkey+Collage.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="263" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu_ph6H2rM5iqkdoC2LVriyilQRqpR8sbJ6zLQ5FNNiBCwFPkrTtW8Nb5Lha53WZYwp6-ojH5XIYw84od4eR14bk8GsUo-aC3aSghVBC5_sf_F7Z_TbN9Na1JVo3-9TqY7Ki9_FXvGRkA/s400/PicMonkey+Collage.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
But before you get started, here's a list of a few supplies you'll need:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Paint - preferably blue and yellow paint since that's Dory's colours but it's not compulsory also red/orange for Hank</li>
<li>Paint brushes</li>
<li>Paper - used plain white paper</li>
<li>Pair of scissors</li>
<li>Empty toilet paper roll</li>
<li>Glue / Cellotape - or some sort of adhesive</li>
<li>Black marker</li>
<li>Yellow highlighter</li>
</ul>
<div>
And now you are ready to get started :)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Don't worry, this is very easy to do. Kept my little one busy for about an hour.</div>
<div>
<ul><ul>
<li>First let the little one paint the page with blue paint - no need to worry about the mess, we need the whole page to be covered with blue paint</li>
<li>Repeat the above step for the yellow paint as well as the red paint. - i used red because I couldn't mix colours to get orange to make Hank (this worked well as well)</li>
<li> Then take your painted pages outside to let them dry</li>
</ul>
</ul>
</div>
<div>
<div>
Once all the painted pages are dry, follow the below to make:</div>
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbHmFAtkvS-lsw-BIjQ4hWz45Bo_ooREHd_I34Zb1QH-egtIy2S6srQtHr8dy37VmbJiEQOzvWi1x5OvNtNqvbF-LfevWptFkDlyLbfUwf-3VZHdXyY-Ma54nSc7epqIzo0FB0a_69M74/s1600/thumb_DSC_0130_1024.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbHmFAtkvS-lsw-BIjQ4hWz45Bo_ooREHd_I34Zb1QH-egtIy2S6srQtHr8dy37VmbJiEQOzvWi1x5OvNtNqvbF-LfevWptFkDlyLbfUwf-3VZHdXyY-Ma54nSc7epqIzo0FB0a_69M74/s320/thumb_DSC_0130_1024.jpg" width="241" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><b><i>Dory</i></b></span></div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Take the blue painted page and cut it in half (to have little A5 size pages.)</li>
<li>Roll it over to have a shape of a cone</li>
<li>Stick the pointy part with collate to keep it in place</li>
<li>Then if you want you can put in some more collate where needed</li>
<li>And then cut the bigger top part of the cone to make it level so it can stand on the table without support</li>
<li>Then take the yellow paper and cut out 2 shapes to make Dory's fins</li>
<li>Then cut out 2 circles from a plain white paper and draw black circle inside. This will be Dory's eyes.</li>
<li>Using your adhesive of choice, stick both the fins and eyes on Dory's body.</li>
<li>Then lastly draw Dory's mouth with a black marker. PS: You can make it any shape you want.</li>
<li>And that is your Dory :)</li>
</ul>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeFceFZ0eW_-Gqzaoc06s9H4Fl0Jw60wgOOfEd00dg_M2PFZ8sOhPpXs2svqScm7pshQF_yp1y5LqWKNnliv-hbr9nLpTKJz1JdkH72ugPr11SjlrZ0cVeQLM-SbAEqiTsjZX_dSY5TY0/s1600/thumb_DSC_0129_1024.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeFceFZ0eW_-Gqzaoc06s9H4Fl0Jw60wgOOfEd00dg_M2PFZ8sOhPpXs2svqScm7pshQF_yp1y5LqWKNnliv-hbr9nLpTKJz1JdkH72ugPr11SjlrZ0cVeQLM-SbAEqiTsjZX_dSY5TY0/s400/thumb_DSC_0129_1024.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><b><i><br /></i></b></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><b><i>Hank</i></b></span></div>
</div>
<div>
Making Hank was much easier than expected. Which was a total plus for this non crafty Mama :)</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Take the red/orange painted page and an empty toilet paper roll</li>
<li>Roll the page around the empty toilet paper roll, using adhesive where necessary to keep it in place.</li>
<li>Cut out 2 circles from a plain white paper and draw in black circles inside. This will be Hank's eyes.</li>
<li>Using adhesive, stick the eyes to Hank's body.</li>
<li>Then take scissors and start cutting out the paper from the bottom up. Stopping just a little bit before you hit the empty toilet paper roll.</li>
<li>Then use a yellow highlighter to draw on Hank's tentacles</li>
<li>When finished, use a pen to roll Hank's arms to get that nice finish.</li>
<li>And with this, you have yourself a complete Hank lookalike :)</li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I sure hope that I have explained this well. I am thinking now that it would have been so much better to do this on video but it's too late now. Anyway, let me know in the comments below if you'd like to see this in a video format and i'll be happy to film that. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For a person with ZERO crafting skills, I think this turned out well and for once, my daughter recognised what it is we were doing (called it Dory right away). Normally she sees something completely different from what we doing, thanks to my crafting skills, or lack thereof :). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Have fun crafting with your little ones and i'll see you soon.</div>
</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">2015 Disney on Ice Program Calendar</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
I've spent months dreaming about going to Disney Land with my little one; hopping on all the rides, eating ice cream, and having a time of our lives. </div>
<h4 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><i><b>"The happiest place on earth,right!"</b></i></span></span></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">But then I get back to reality and realise that it might just not be practical yet. My little one is only almost 3 years old. "No" and "behave yourself" doesn't quite mean much to her and with the level of determination she has, going to Disney Land now might actually turn out to be nightmare. Queues are long, It gets crazy packs, and also, it is quite expensive to travel to Disney Land with little one now when she won't remember a thing in 2 months.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">But, with this being said; I have absolutely no problem taking her to go experience a little bit of Disney magic without having to pay for all the expenses that come with going to Disney Land. For 2 hours out of our chosen day we get to sit and enjoy a little slice of Disney heaven. We get to see the disney characters come to live and for me as a mother, I get to see that beautifully joyful smile on my daughter; and the best part is, when it's all over, we get to go back home and relax.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">This however is not as easy as it sounds, if you are like me and don't appreciate chaos and don't do very well in crowded places. If you are planning to take the little ones to watch Disney on Ice <span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">to get a chance to </span></span>experience that little bit of Disney Magic, there's a few things you need to know. Things I wish somebody told me before I took my then 22months old baby to watch the show last year. Things that made me almost tear up because I was so irritated and annoyed. Things that I am definitely going to make sure I get right this year. I am putting together a *To-remember-to-do-List* of all things I need to make sure I fully enjoy my 2 hours of watching Disney on Ice beacuse let's be honest</span></div>
<h4 style="text-align: center;">
<i><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: large;">Disney on Ice is as much a show for kids as it is for Parents. We all love Disney Characters!</span></span></i></h4>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"> These aregoing stright to the top of the that *To-remember-to-do-List*</span></span></span></div>
<ul style="text-align: justify;">
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">Bring cash - they do not take cards for payment on anything and there's just 1 or 2 mobile atm's and hundreds of people.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">Arrive 30-45 min before the show starts - This will give you enough time to look around and try decide what you are buying for the little ones - and yourself :). Also helps with parking.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">Pack some snacks for the little ones - this is totally optional but also very very cost saving. There are little stalls selling snacks (popcorns, slushies etc) but they don't come in cheap. I remember I had to buy small popcorns for R80 last year, chances are prices increased this year.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"> Do not bring Newborn babies or babies in arms with the expectation that they don't have to pay - Every single person inside the show is expected to have a ticket on hand including babies being held by parents.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"> Have pocket tissues handy - It is an ice ring and although it's not that cold for the parents, little ones get runny noses.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"> Rather use the mall parking than the dedicated parking - Makes it very easy to get out and go home once show is over.</span></span></span></li>

<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;">I was very naive last year. I had hoped there'll be impeccable order and as it turned out, I was wrong. There was order, just not impeccable but because I had expected more, I was a little disappointed. This however, did not stop me from enjoying the show. It was simply magical! Almost like being in Disney Land - I think.</span></span></span></div>

The shows will be running in Johannesburg The Dome from the 24th June - 3rd of July 2016 and tickets retails from R100 - R475 - with a chance of group/family discounts - amazing!.</span></span></span></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am a first time mom! And this means i've been having a LOAD of firsts in the past almost 3 years. Some very exciting stuff and some of those not so exciting stuff. I was prepared for all the things that come with being a mom. Ready to hit the ground running and be the best mom EVER. And yes, it was mostly peaches and cream - only because I had prepared myself so hard - until I had to Potty Train. Then my cage was rattled. Procrastination hit hard, tears flowed down, and sleepless nights creeped in. Yes, it all seems crazy but this all happened to me. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Never had I imagined that I would be feeling the way I felt. Not for nothing but I really did not want my Lil Baby to grow up. And yet here she was, showing me all signs that she's ready to potty train and I all I could do was look the other way. One excuse after another - "She's not ready! She's still so little! She's my baby! Let's get through the nappies! I will start in Summer!" - It just kept going on and on.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After having several chats with different first time moms, I realised that this might just be a first time mom thing. Quite frankly, I was so GLAD I wasn't alone in this. The First Time Mom Struggle! *sigh*</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So after several months of procrastination and I finally ran out of excuses, I got myself to go ahead and start the potty training journey with my little one. This started in December of 2015. My little Kbear was 2years old and 4months Old and just before she turned 2years Old and 6months, we were done. Honestly, though, I was extremely clueless on what it is I was doing and whether or not I was doing it right, this was by far 1 of the most interesting things i've done with my little one.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As I am writing this post, Kbear is fully potty trained and has been for the past 4.5months. It all started with 1 terrified mom, a very excited lil one in pull up nappies, and a whole bunch of potty training supplies. And it ended with not only a HAPPY mom but also a confident 1, a little lady in cute underwear, and a lot of waterproof sheet liners.<br />
<br />
It was a very daunting thing at the beginning. One of those *a blind leading a blind* kind of situations. I had to do a load of research and collect as much information as I possibly can on Potty Training but most importantly, I had to get started.<br />
<br />
I spent a lot of time, wondering if I was doing the right thing, if I was encouraging lil one enough, if the bathroom trips were frequent enough, and, and, and! The wondering kept going. Until 1 day my lil girl woke up and her bed and pants were completely dry. Not because she didn't need to use the bathroom, but because she actually got out of bed and used her potty. This was magical and very very reassuring. I knew then that, all is well. That we have been doing it right. All those days that we spent at home afraid to go anywhere (just in case a potty accident happens) were all worth it. Our potty training journey was coming to the end. my girl was now ready to let go of Mommy's hand and be lil Miss Independent. It hurt a lil, because to me that was another sign that she's growing up too fast, but I was also very happy. This was 1 of the exercises that myself and my daughter partnered and actually did together; as a team.<br />
<br />
So I figured, there's a very real chance that there's a 1st time mom out there who is going through exactly what I went through and reading this might just make her feel much better and even give a push in the right direction. And so here I am sharing my top tips on getting on with this Potty Training Monster and actually doing it right.<br />
<br />
<span style="text-align: start;">PS: You might want to refer to this video for more detailed explanations on these tips </span><a href="https://youtu.be/FkKTOiHLGhA" style="text-align: start;">https://youtu.be/FkKTOiHLGhA</a><span style="text-align: start;"> .</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>Commit to Potty Train your little one</li>
<li>Make sure you have all the Potty Training supplies </li>
<ul>
<li>Depending on whether you are potty training a lil Boy or Girl, you will need the supplies</li>
<ul>
<li>Potty seat</li>
<li>Lil urinal</li>
<li>Potty Toilet</li>
<li>Underwear</li>
<li>Pull-Up pants nappies (optional) - I didn't use these, went cold turkey</li>
<li>Loads of wet wipes</li>
</ul>
</ul>
<li>Get started - Just begin the Potty Training Journey</li>
<ul>
<li>Take lil one with you overtime you go to the bathroom</li>
<li>Make lil one sit on Potty every 2 hours</li>
<li>Give lil one as much liquid as possible. This will make him/her want to use the Potty</li>
</ul>
<li>Never look back - Keep going strong</li>
</ul>
Honestly I am not an expert on Potty Training. I have only ever done it once and I do not regret a thing. I only hope that by following the above tips you'll be able to start the Potty Training Adventure with your lil one. And most importantly I hope you will have a ton of fun while doing it.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is not a post about how to get along well with your friends, or even how to make friends. This is rather a very personal and sad post for me. You see, all my life I've only ever really wanted 1 thing - a best friend. Sounds stupid, I know! We all have different definitions of what this means but to me, it means someone I relate to so much, it almost feels like we are sisters. A bit too much to ask? that's probably because it is. So let me be realistic... I needed a friend, a person that I can talk to for hours about pointless things. The one that I can count on to bring me a chocolate and cupcakes when i'm heart broken. The one I can talk to when i'm angry at my boyfriend. The 1 that I don't even have to explain myself, and she just gets it. And most importantly, the one that'll understand and be patient with me.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am a work in progress, but I am also definitely a Mother!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Irrespective of the situation, my daughter will always come first but this doesn't mean that I do not have time for you. I want more than anything to hang out and have coffee. I want to go to the movies, I want to do paintball saturdays and socialise with people that won't tell me *Okay, that's enough, mommy!* but I also want to be the best Mom I know I can be. And this on it's own is a full time job.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
At first it was great, we got along well, too many things in common [which was fantastic], the same struggles, and most importantly we had aligned passions. I was there and willing to make it work....I still am. But my friend, I need you to understand and be patient with me. For me, gone are the days when I could do anything I wanted to {No regrets}. A schedule has become my partner and planning is right there with it. I find myself saying to you "no; I can't make it; I'll confirm" so much more lately that it breaks my heart to pieces. As I sit here and write this post, I feel you slipping away from me, one cancelled coffee date at a time. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I don't want this to happen, and yet I don't know how to stop it from happening!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I wish there was a way to make it all work, and maybe there is; I just don't know yet. Our friendship has been on hold, mostly because of me. I have too many things going on. The same struggles you know, and also the good struggles that you don't know about. And in the misdst of all this, I forgot to text you and say hi; you stopped asking me to come to church/hang out; we both just gave up!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really hope that someday, I will find the balance that I am looking for. One where I am able to give you the love and attention you need while being the best possible Mother I can be. Until then, I am sorry for neglecting our Friendship. I miss you more than you can imagine and it pains my heart each time when I have to say "I won't make it". Most of all, I need you to always remember that no matter what happens to our friendship, You are the Sister that I never had but always wanted. In you, I found a best friend. Keep well and stay smilling, My Friend :) .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
PS: My Friend, you know yourself, afterall, I am a 1 friend woman *wink*</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I can barely believe that winter is finally here. I have been in denial this whole time, holding onto to the nice toasty days of summer, and telling myself that winter won't be as cold. Well, I can tell you now that I was wrong :( or maybe I wasn't. It could just be the pure HATE relationship that I have with winter [pretty surprising because I am a winter Baby - July bday] that is making me feel this way. To be honest, if it was up to me, I'd skip straight into spring and leave winter hanging, but we don't always get what we want, right! Long *sigh*!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With this being said, I was very excited to shop for my little one for this year's winter - the only thing I look forward to every change of season - and I must say, toddler fashion is getting more and more impressive every single year. There was quite a variety to pick from and after almost picking the whole store; fighting with my boyfriend for not letting me; and trying really hard to convince Kbear to try the clothes on, I finally decided on a few that will be much needed this winter. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
These are the basics; Jackets, warm dresses, boots, winter tights, you name them. Initially I was going to write a post about them all so I can show you and maybe in the process give lil inspiration on what to get your lil one but I figured doing it on video will be much better. I do need to mention however that I am no expert in fashion and styling clothes. This is basically just me matching clothes together and making sure my little goes to school looking presentable.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here's a video of some of the clothes that my Kbear will be wearing this winter [ <a href="https://youtu.be/zZbFrBgVbZA">https://youtu.be/zZbFrBgVbZA</a> ]. I hope you'll enjoy watching. Let's chat in the comments section below about which outfit you liked more and what you'd love to see/read next on this blog.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/zZbFrBgVbZA/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/zZbFrBgVbZA?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Please note my little one will be 3years old in 3months so all the clothes(excluding dresses) you'll see in this video are sizes 3 - 4 years old. The dresses are size 2 - 3years old. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Happy Summer/Winter to you and keep safe.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
First off, YES! you read the title right. We drove 600 kilometres to and another from just for some Sea Food! Do we not have seafood where we live? Yes, we do. Is it not good? Honestly, I don't know. But this is what I do know; This was a magical trip and I would do it again in a heartbeat if I had the chance.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So on the 9th of May 2016, my boyfriend told me about this awesome restaurant that he ate this amazing Seafood platter in. Since i'm not a big seafood fan, I turned up my nose and didn't entertain it much! He's not a quitter, so he brought up the topic again but this time he told me that he booked us accommodation at the restaurant's Hotel so that I can try out this fantastic seafood platter. I can tell you now, in that moment, I got so very excited, I barely slept that night. All I could think about was, in 4 nights I'll be at the beach.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Our trip began the early hours of Saturday the 14th of May 2016. Which happened to be my Mother's birthday[I was totally the 1st one to text her :) and wish her a happy birthday]. The weather was not very nice. It was raining and a bit cold but that didn't bother us. All we wanted was seafood. It never was about site seeing anyway. So we set off and started our almost 7 hours drive to KZN, Durban. We took our lil 2 year old with and we made it a fun little family road trip.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Fast forward to about 7 hours later, the sun is shinning beautifully, the weather is nice and warm, and there's major humidity. We are in Durban! Lil one is screaming for her sunglasses and all I want is the bathroom - Thank you Cafe Latte. We arrived just in time to take lil one to the beach, to the top of Moses Mabhida Stadium, and to get some very light lunch before we checked into the hotel.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When 2pm hit, we went straight to the hotel to check in. By this time we were pretty tired and we all just needed a nice shower. We got a lovely family room at the Southern Sun Maharani Hotel in Durban. The Hotel staff was amazing, and the view from our room was just breathtaking.</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjChDWAnhOnYJxZZTTpmH8q9YmfNrZ9pBfk_pH048VRhOAmd-IHuTieIpSU5Kw-IF_JOIdJo5-BAfx-NZwiwLC79JExJWa-Qt8gWd7BtQhRkyttcdh4pvacFnv-HbjSHLXyyNYnzRqZkHs/s1600/thumb_IMG_3697_1024.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjChDWAnhOnYJxZZTTpmH8q9YmfNrZ9pBfk_pH048VRhOAmd-IHuTieIpSU5Kw-IF_JOIdJo5-BAfx-NZwiwLC79JExJWa-Qt8gWd7BtQhRkyttcdh4pvacFnv-HbjSHLXyyNYnzRqZkHs/s320/thumb_IMG_3697_1024.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">View from our room on the 20th floor</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After relaxing for about 3 hours in our hotel room, we got out for the main reason why we were out in Durban. Seafood! We had a 6pm reservation at Daruma [this is a restaurant inside the Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel) and I was panicking a lil - thinking, I don't like Seafood,this is going to be a disaster!. But the minute I walked into the restaurant, my jaw was on the floor. It could be because I was tipsy from the wine we had...LOL.. The waiters and Waitresses there are really friendly and yet very professional. We ordered our food and had a chance to see the Chef prepare our meal. You see, when you are in the restaurant, there's no back kitchen where food is cooked and comes out looking all pretty and you have no idea who made it; you get to see the chef who prepares your food and how he/she does it. I am still in awe of this. Such a small thing but it makes such a huge difference. So we ate our food and had a fantastic time and can I just say that, that was thee most DELICIOUS Seafood platter i've ever had. My total first and my love. This was the first time that I had seafood like that and I really loved it. We had to literally drag ourselves back to our hotel room,because not only were we full, but we were also a ted bit exhausted from the day's activities. The only person with tons of energy was the little one. She bounced all around our hotel room until just after 11pm at night[We even had to get room service]. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The very next day, we checked out of the hotel and got ready to drive another 600km back home. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As crazy as this sounds, this was by far the best *in the moment* trip i've had with my family. We didn't over analyse things like we usually do, we didn't overpack, I wasn't wearing any makeup all weekend, and for once, we were all happy[lil one included] with the selection of music that we had playing in the car.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am happy that we are all back home safe and sound but I can't believe it has been a week already since our cray cray road trip.</div>

This is a review on the New Neutrogena Correct & Perfect CC Cream [Watch full video review here <a href="https://youtu.be/kkWM_FaMMic.">https://youtu.be/kkWM_FaMMic</a>]. This product has not launched just yet in South Africa but will hopefully hit the stores around July 2016. It was sent to me via mail - Courtesy of Beauty Bulletin - in an exchange for an honest review.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Just incase you are not sure, CC in CC Cream stands for Colour Corrector or Complexion Corrector Cream. This product claims to instantly cover spots and breakout marks while also helping to correct them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is what my face looks like without the CC Cream. Note that, this picture was taken on the 14th day of using the CC Cream. My skin seems to be more even, moisturised, and it has an amazing glow.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is what my face looks like with the CC Cream. With it's thick consistency, the CC Cream has a very nice dewy finish. Not only did it conceal my dark spots but it also evened out my skin tone. Naturally, I almost always get darker shades when I purchase makeup products but I have this CC Cream in shade medium. Yes, it is a little bit lighter than my tone but to counter that, I went ahead and set the CC Cream with a little bit of face powder. However, if you have a shade that is perfect for your skin tone, it really is not necessary to do so (use powder) since the CC Cream sets very well on it's own.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So to conclude this review, here are my pro's and con's of the Neutrogena Correct & Perfect CC Cream:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>Pro's</li>
<ul>
<li>It's very easy to apply the product</li>
<li>No need for a foundation brush</li>
<li>It does not have a scent - unscented</li>
<li>It has a very nice dewy finish</li>
<li>It has very great coverage (dark spots)</li>
<li>It is very light weight on the skin</li>
<li>Evens out skin complexion BEAUTIFULLY</li>
<li>Its consistency is just perfect, very easy to get it out the container without a mess</li>
</ul>
<li>Con's</li>
<ul>
<li>I honestly do not have anything I do not like about this product.</li>
</ul>
</ul>
<div>
I would recommend this product to anyone who does not like to use foundation but would still like to conceal the dark spots and even out skin tone. This product gives out best results with very little effort. You will spend very little time applying the CC Cream but you'll definitely get through hours looking FANTASTIC. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This was my first ever experience using a CC Cream and I must say, it was an incredible one. If you have used a CC Cream before (any brand), please share how it worked for you and your skin type/tone in the comments below. Until then, stay BEAUTIFUL.</div>

<br />
Wednesday the 27th of April marked the 22nd year of Freedom for South Africans. The early hours of the 28th of April 2016 marked the day I lost my cousin. The afternoon of the 28th of April 2016 my Lil Kbear officially turned 2years and 8months old [32 months old]. Mixed emotions? Plenty!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Let's start with Freedom Day. Honestly I wasn't going to say much about this. I don't have much to say, after all I am only 3 years older than Freedom in South Africa. But it would not be fair for me to not say anything. I was born during the very end of apartheid and as such I did not experience it. I have no memory of era; nothing whatsoever of what that felt like. But my parents do. My friends do. My Colleagues do; in fact many other people do. For them the wounds have healed but the scares are still fresh. They remember those days like it was yesterday but above all, they remember and embrace forgiveness.<br />
We live in a changed South Africa. One where there's peace and harmony. At least i'd like to believe so :) . In the early hours of the morning of the 27th of April.....Okay wait, it really wasn't that early....I went into the City of Johannesburg or as we call it Down Town Joburg. I have no idea why I did that, but I did anyway. The city was buzzing with songs of the struggles, people were singing and dancing. Whistles were being blown from all angles and the vibe was just good. And in that moment, I almost understood what it was like during those times and I could almost see how far we have come. We live in a BEAUTIFUL Country, filled with BEAUTIFUL people and for that I am grateful that we have come past the apartheid era. I will never fully understand what it was like but I won't ever stop appreciating what it is like now.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now, about the more sad news. My Dear Cousin, taken from us too soon. At only 26, with a very young Daughter, we did not see this one coming. It's funny how overtime when a person says life is too short, we just don't listen. It's really not that we don't want to, but simply that we can't relate to the situation. One can never understand this until you experience it. I got the news at 2am in the morning and I could not sleep until 5am. Yes, it was a very long day at work! I kept thinking about her Lil Girl. I kept wondering what would happen to my my Lil Girl should I die now. Honestly, I still don't know. These are all such difficult questions that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later. But for now, I will mourn my Dear cousin who will be dearly missed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And of course I saved the happier story for last. Kbear is 32months old....Wait, does this mean that she'll be 3years old in 4 months? Can somebody please just press pause on this time? Please!<br />
My cute lil munchkin is growing up too fast but I wouldn't change it for anything. She's more sociable, confident, and way too energetic. It doesn't help that I gave her cake just before bedtime but it was the 1 day in the month where she gets to eat cake like that. We sat as a mini Family [Myself, Her, and Her Daddy], sang a BirthDate song and ate the cake together. It's such a small thing and yet so precious. I would not trade this for anything.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed reading this very random post. Too many things happening all at once and I just needed to share the Joy and Sadness that i'm feeling right now with someone. Let's chat up in comments below about your take on Freedom Day. Do you feel South Africa is heading in the right direction freedom wise or do you foresee a disaster ahead?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Until next time, hope you had a wonderful Freedom day.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
With Winter fast approaching and a little bit of dry skin due to the hush weather, it can be a tough mission to find beauty products that can not only keep ones skin hydrated but also keep it looking alive and glowing.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2 weeks ago, I received a package in the mail - [courtesy of Beauty Bulletin] - and in this package was 2 beauty products that have now become my absolute BFF's. One of those products was the Neutrogena Correct & Perfect Complexion Scrub. This products is simply MAGICAL. It claims it can </div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Help clear skin,</li>
<li>Prevent breakouts, and</li>
<li>Even skin complexion</li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And I can tell you with the outmost confidence that this is true. Personally, I do not have any struggles with breakouts or pimples/acne on my face but skin tone is an ongoing real STRUGGLE for me. For most years of my life, I've tried products after products but just could not get a break through. With this product, my luck might just have taken a much needed turn in the right direction. I have been using it for 2 weeks and even though my skin tone is not completely even, there has been a very visible change/improvement.</div>
</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDwUGRF0m1pO5sHXbEbL9kMa19NmSx93YuRPrJj8b80ZiZcliJKUivCGZKBG6RDdD9FFG7fQKoeModjLnj5XuI9yfe_D7nWFgWAPdoeMEBaAkanKW5AhUMuYPW49_nuL6ZbA6fCbIERPI/s1600/PicMonkey+Collage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="188" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDwUGRF0m1pO5sHXbEbL9kMa19NmSx93YuRPrJj8b80ZiZcliJKUivCGZKBG6RDdD9FFG7fQKoeModjLnj5XuI9yfe_D7nWFgWAPdoeMEBaAkanKW5AhUMuYPW49_nuL6ZbA6fCbIERPI/s320/PicMonkey+Collage.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">2 weeks Results</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Enriched with Salicylic Acid and gentle exfoliating microbeads, the Complexion Scrub actively works to improve ones complexion while at the same time improving and/or reducing the spots, marks, and other imperfections on ones face. What I like about this product is that</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>It is very easy to use,</li>
<li>Keeps my face moisturised,</li>
<li>It exfoliates while cleaning my face, and</li>
<li>Smells really amazing.</li>
</ul>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As the picture above shows, I can confirm that this product may just be exactly what it claims. The spots on my face are slowly fading away and my skin tone is also evening out.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Unfortunately this magical product is not yet in stores. But don't despair, it will launch in South Africa around July 2016. This will surely be a very long wait for me considering i'm almost at the end of the 150ml Complexion Scrub that I received from Beauty Bulletin. Nonetheless, it definitely be worth the wait.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In conclusion, I would recommend this product to anyone who has uneven skin tone, spots on the face, and anyone who is looking for a complexion scrub that can both clean your face and also keep you moisturised. It will be worth every cent you spend on it. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm having the time of my life using this product and I can barely wait for you to get your hands on it and try it out as well.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
For the very longest time, I could not find hair products that could keep my Daughter's hair moisturized. She has all Natural hair, 4c type, and because she is just a little toddler, she doesn't quite like covering her hair, let alone her head. So it's close to impossible for me to keep her hair nicely covered and protected. As you can imagine, the hair gets dry very fast and I get pretty frustrated with the process of hydrating it only for it to get dry all over again. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With this I began the search for a hair product that will help me not only keep my daughter's hair moisturized but also help me keep her hair looking healthy. Can I just mention that I also have natural hair. It's not much(about 5 months post cutting all my relaxed hair) but it's long enough for me to style it. And so this was also a search for my hair as well.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Garnier Ultimate Blends Natural Hair products have been a live saver. These are:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>Shampoo</li>
<li>Conditioner</li>
<li>Balm</li>
<li>Serum</li>

Now these launch a little over a month ago but I have been putting out doing a review on them because I needed to experience them myself. I've been on braids and finally took them off and now here I am. We (Myself ad my Daughter) have been using The Strength Restorer line. Enriched with Honey, Royal Jelly, and Propolis Extract, they promise to strengthen, protect, and nourish fragile hair that is prone to breakage. As a result of our hair being dry, we've always experienced hair breakage and to a certain extend, we had very fragile hair. We couldn't comb through without having almost a handful of hair but ever since we started using these product, we have seen much much needed improvement. Truth be told, we still experience a little bit of breakage but it is not as bad as it was before. what I like the most about these products is:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>They have a consistent smell/scent</li>
<li>Very thick consistency</li>
<li>Very easy to use</li>
<li>Accessible, and</li>
<li>Affordable</li>
</ul>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The benefits we've seen thus far after a month of using these products (used them about 8 times in a month):</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>Stronger hair - less breakage</li>
<li>Hair is moisturized</li>
<li>Very easy to manage/style hair</li>
</ul>

We have these products in the following sizes - 200ml conditioner; 250ml Shampoo, 300ml Balm, 50ml Serum. You can watch this video <a href="https://youtu.be/nQ84F2C5vQs">https://youtu.be/nQ84F2C5vQs</a> to find out more about how to use these products. These can be purchased from clicks and they retail between R 30 to R50 {PS: prices might be different}. I honestly would recommend these products to anyone with natural hair, especially if you have 4c type. Myself and my daughter have been loving them so much, we barely have anything we don't like about them and I hope you will like them as well. Let me know in the comments if you've tried them and how you liked them. Until then, I'll see you soon.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Summer is over, Days are getting shorter, The cold is slowly creeping in and it's getting a little bit harder to get the lil ones outdoors to play. So what better way to entertain them than by taking them to go meet Chase and Marshall? These are two Puppy characters from the TV show Paw Patrol. On the show there's a total of 6 puppies, they live with their guardian Rider in a little town called Adventure Bay and together they *Save the Day*. Literally!! As the show slogan goes - *<b>No Job too big, No Pup to small</b>* ,they are always there to provide help or should I say to rescue the day when needed. This is one of the TV shows that I do not mind my 2 year old watching.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If your lil ones loves puppies, there's a very good chance they'll love the TV show and even better, they'll love meeting the Puppy characters in real life. So come on over to Eastgate Mall on the 23rd of April 2016 [more details on the press release below] and let your lil ones have the time of their lives. This event is in partnership with Hamleys - The finest toy store in the world - and I am not being paid to blog about it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I must admit, I secretly love the Paw Patrol TV show as well :). There are times were I find myself singing their theme song and without a doubt I get just as excited as my 2 year old when the new episode airs on TV. With this being the case, It goes without saying the I will definitely be taking my Kbear to meet Chase and Marshall and I hope i'll see you there. </div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Vanilla Cupcakes with Oreo Biscuits Buttercream Frosting</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Last night I got home and I was wishing for something magical. I couldn't quite place exactly what it is I wanted so as you can imagine; It was a bit of a difficult riddle to solve. So I opened my food cupboard and somehow the Oreo cookies were quite appealing. My daughter on the other hand was screaming tirelessly for cupcakes. I was puzzled !</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So I grabbed the Snowflake Vanilla Cupcakes pre-mix we had and the Oreo cookies and I said to her, "Let's make Magic". With this, we made/baked Vanilla Cupcakes with Oreo cookies flavoured frosting. See below for Ingredients and Method.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBgHkLhuRX91QT_bEFQDOy4_fKtZ-qbWu57JuoxlD9McpMx0HjnB1nWYqlHq0rJXIaNAf0ORf0clGnpHpY146J1YS2SEJsepbUGSxFeXgUhTuM7zV5oBiO7zCZ16PrbtM-7wqGJc8mf1M/s1600/Magic.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBgHkLhuRX91QT_bEFQDOy4_fKtZ-qbWu57JuoxlD9McpMx0HjnB1nWYqlHq0rJXIaNAf0ORf0clGnpHpY146J1YS2SEJsepbUGSxFeXgUhTuM7zV5oBiO7zCZ16PrbtM-7wqGJc8mf1M/s320/Magic.PNG" width="316" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
This is a pretty basic recipe because the Cupcake premix already has
most of the ingredients you need but just to mention the ingredients :</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><b><span style="font-size: large;">For the Cupcakes you will need:</span></b></i></div>
<ul style="text-align: center;">
<li style="text-align: center;">Vanilla Cupcakes Premix - (You can make the Vanilla Cupcakes batter from scratch if you don't have the premix)</li>
<li style="text-align: center;">1 Large Egg</li>
<li style="text-align: center;">60ml Cooking Oil</li>
<li style="text-align: center;">100 Milk (I used full cream milk) </li>
<li style="text-align: center;">12 Oreo Biscuits</li>
</ul>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<i><b><span style="font-size: large;">For the Frosting You will need:</span></b></i><br />
<ul>
<li>3 Tbsp Baking Butter </li>
<li>2 Cups Icing Sugar</li>
<li>2 Tbsp Milk</li>
<li>2 Oreo Cookies (crushed) </li>
<li>1 tsp Vanilla Essence (optional)</li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now that you have your ingredients lined up, you are a step closer to making MAGIC. Here's the directions for mixing the ingredients all together.</div>
<br />
<b>Directions for Cupcakes:</b><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Preheat Oven to 180 Degrees Celsius</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you do not have a premix, mix the ingredients you have for the cupcakes until you have a smooth consistent batter. Make sure you do not over mix.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you are using the Premix, follow the instructions as outlined on the pack. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For this pack that I used(Vanilla Cupcakes), mix egg, Oil, and Milk together in a large bowl. Then add your Cupcake mix to the mixture and continue to mix until it is well combined. Make sure you do not over mix.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Line your cupcake pan with Cupcake cases and in each, put in 1 Oreo cookie at the bottom. Then fill the cupcake cases to 3/4 with the batter and bake for +/- 15min or until baked through. Once cooked, remove from oven then set them aside on the cooling rack until they are completely cooled down.</div>
<br />
<b>While that is baking, you can start with the Frosting.</b><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In a bowl beat together butter and Icing sugar until it forms bread crumbs consistency. Add the Crushed Oreo cookies and continue to mix. Then add your milk [and vanilla Essence] and continue to mix. Ensure that all the ingredients are combined together. Depending on your desired consistency, you can either add more milk to make it loose or more icing sugar to make it thicker. Then continue to mix. Once you have all the ingredients in and you are happy with the consistency, you can mix the frosting for an extra 1min on full speed for the creamy texture (this is what I like to do). Then transfer to a pipping bag and wait for your cupcakes to cool down.</div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhECrZT1s5TZywegfDLpSbKdS0W2FBZJQ6AUYyUBX-LH9G83B96J953st06cDyklp7tZvori9W8DhrBTlrxTJyAhp4_L9uHXXlApT54Qseg9pxOy4gFFJowoficQiVc42Fix24k2JPz9qo/s1600/DSC_8467.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhECrZT1s5TZywegfDLpSbKdS0W2FBZJQ6AUYyUBX-LH9G83B96J953st06cDyklp7tZvori9W8DhrBTlrxTJyAhp4_L9uHXXlApT54Qseg9pxOy4gFFJowoficQiVc42Fix24k2JPz9qo/s320/DSC_8467.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Final product</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Once the Cupcakes have cooled down completely, you can go ahead and frost them. Then enjoy them with a cup of tea, coffee. Or anything you prefer really :).</div>
<br />
These turned out beautifully and the Oreo cookies really worked out some magic with balancing the sugar from the frosting. I could eat this every single day. Like I said, this was PURE MAGIC. I hope you'll have fun making this recipe and even more fun eating the Cupcakes<br />

OMW!!! I can barely believe that in just a lil over 5 months my Little Baby will be 3 years old. It's really so crazy how time flies. I remember when she was just a day old and I was fantasising about what it'll be like once she crawls. Then when she started crawling, I fantasised about what it'll be like when she starts walking. Then about what it'll be like when she starts talking. Now she's doing all that. All my fantasies came true and yet I find myself fantasising about what it was like when she was a Baby. It's funny how things work out.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Every day I wake up and I feel so proud and blessed to be this Little Girl's Mother. Watching her grow up before my eyes and turn into a little self-sufficient toddler is a bit heartbreaking but also very very amazing. I can't imagine life without her. She reminds me each day just how blessed I am and she brings out just so much joy inside me.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yes, she's a typical 2 year old. Naughty! Full of Tantrums! Stubborn and Cheeky! just to mention a few. But you know what, I would not have it any other way. </div>

On the 1st weekend of March I had the privilege of celebrating my Cousin's big day with her. It was such a beautiful day surrounded by family and extended family exchanging good laughs. </div>

My cousin looked absolutely STUNNING and we were all just so happy for her, and we continue to be happy for her. The food was GREAT, the deco was on point, and the whole Ceremony as well as reception were perfectly beautiful.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Driving to my Parents' is a bit of a drive [ 3 hours] and seeing them at the wedding was a complete added cherry on Top. Kbear also got to spend a few minutes with her Grandparents and be spoilt which was both fantastic and heart warming.</div>

My Parents spent the night at our place and so with all the talking and catching up, we ended up going to bed just before Midnight. We were all exhausted but just so happy. It was a really beautiful and wonderful day Indeed. Congrats Cuz and may you have the BEST and Blessed marriage. I wish you nothing but Joy and happiness.</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Garnier Oil Control Complete</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Having a busy life and actually finding products that can withstand the busyness can be a bit challenging at times. I spent most of my weekdays going up and down to different boardrooms at work, attending
meetings, and at times talking to very important clients. Unfortunately
with all this, comes an oily face :(. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For some women, myself included, an oily face can be a dent to the self-esteem and personally, it makes me a little uncomfortable. So I decided to try out the Garnier Oil Control Complete products. This includes the Deep Clean face Wash as well as the Deep Cleansing Lotion.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Essentially I was looking for something that would make my face a little less oily without drying me up; A product that would keep my face clean while at the same time reducing as much oil as possible; and most of all a product that is easy to use and accessible at any time for purchase. These 2 products have given me exactly that.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYr-70VfNRYWlWEnbIT-Xbup_JraEj8SZXIfiYwrvqikYIxA5tfB8YtQbTBn53rQPVh6NZ6bx2RQ8IAszeMbIv4C2EobNw6a6DoVB0GWgX0-CMrE8cPit0WVPH1xME-haILNu0y2rAmvY/s1600/DSC_8325.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="236" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYr-70VfNRYWlWEnbIT-Xbup_JraEj8SZXIfiYwrvqikYIxA5tfB8YtQbTBn53rQPVh6NZ6bx2RQ8IAszeMbIv4C2EobNw6a6DoVB0GWgX0-CMrE8cPit0WVPH1xME-haILNu0y2rAmvY/s320/DSC_8325.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><i><b>Garnier Oil Control Complete Face Wash</b></i></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The face wash is enriched with Zinc and purifying agents. It is meant to help reduce excess oil, take action on the stubborn imperfections, and also to purify, clean, and freshen up ones skin. I have been using this face wash for 2 weeks straight twice a day (Morning and Evening) and i've got exactly what it promised. This gives me such a refreshing feeling on my skin. The air flows much easier through my skin and it almost feels/smells minty. It is very very easy to use as well. It comes in liquid form, which turns to foam, that you can just squeeze into your hand and wash your face.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE-6WK62E5BUc_z-bii-6ORYG_2DBE9zIfBxqG2dS9UkvHOYAMV2Qvjxtlu_KrMv9WPMDauc7jBRDldm_c0uF-SMvG86D9CMYFX2bSKsFYXPg1UuCH2sT5QtRk5mX-QNh6_BOvjrVTH2I/s1600/DSC_8320.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="287" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE-6WK62E5BUc_z-bii-6ORYG_2DBE9zIfBxqG2dS9UkvHOYAMV2Qvjxtlu_KrMv9WPMDauc7jBRDldm_c0uF-SMvG86D9CMYFX2bSKsFYXPg1UuCH2sT5QtRk5mX-QNh6_BOvjrVTH2I/s320/DSC_8320.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><i><b>Garnier Oil Control Complete Lotion</b></i></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Enriched with Eucalyptus and Zinc, this lotion has brought wonders to my skin care routine. It is said to reduce excess oil, unclog & tighten pores, and most importantly it instantly cleanses skin. It truly is amazing how much dirt comes out of ones face when you think you have washed it. This leaves my skin feeling clean, smoother, and definitely moisturized.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><span style="font-size: large;"><b>What I do NOT like</b></span></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
These are 2 very amazing products delivering amazing results. However, they both have this sharp/intense scent. My smelling senses tell me it's a combination of mint and cucumber but someone else might think otherwise. There are times were the smell gets a little bit too intense that I need to hold my breath for a little but then it goes away and i'm ready to continue. Another con about these products which might be linked to the scent/smell is that each time I use/apply these products to my face, my eyes burn. It is a very uncomfortable feeling but again it does not last long.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
PS: Because these 2 products work so hard to reduce as much oil as possible
from ones face, you are prone to sun burn/tan so it is advisable to put
on a moisturizer and/or day cream that has SPF.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><b>Affordability and accessibility</b></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can find these products in most of the Pharmaceutical and Grocery stores around South Africa; Dischem, Clicks, Pick n' Pay, just to mention a few. They are very affordable and won't leave holes in your wallets. I bought the lotion 125ml for R20 and the face wash 50ml for R20 also from Dischem. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><b>Final words</b></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I do not regret buying these products. They have given me exactly what I needed and I continue to use them on a daily basis. They are very easy to use, so no added time to my morning routine, very quick, and they are easily accessible.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Go ahead give them a try and let me know in the comments section below how you like them. Also i the meantime, check out this video <a href="https://youtu.be/bEkR7mFRENM">https://youtu.be/bEkR7mFRENM</a> on my YouTube Channel where I talked a little bit about these products. Until next time, keep well.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWAXT5pwxUbczwmDV4fBfNMkukkoDch_xjrs1XVVobYT7C14jBiqQfvzMZEYZQiHyIekkK0O1O5Aa4-Obt-Y6dkx5MMank26ucNuGegDHXnn3TEy-q1LUd3TOtoTEN4VvDzh8GMZJ_KaY/s320/IMG_0182.JPG" width="320" /></div>
<br />
<br />
Sometimes life gets so busy, too busy in fact that you hardly ever have 2 min to yourself. All my life all I ever wanted was to be a Mom. Truth be told, I wanted this more than I wanted a job...Shhhh. However I did not anticipate the amount of work that comes with being a Mom. It's even more work for me and my boyfriend because we live so far away from family. We hardly ever have anyone that can offer to baby sit for us and my boyfriend works a little bit far away from home. So as you can imagine, I end up being the one to handle all things baby :). I truly do not have a problem with this but I must say, it can be extremely exhausting at time.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am a full time working Mom. Which means I have a job that I go to every single weekday from 8h30am till 4h30am. I also have a very busy and super energetic 2 year old, and an incredible Boyfriend whom we are trying to build a family together. I don't know about you but to me, these are the most important things in ones life. Now the challenge is to keep them all happy. To try and make sure that all is doing well and everyone is happy. To try and make sure that I don't burn myself out while I'm at it. Boy, is it difficult at times!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Back in 2015, I made a promise to myself to try and get the balance between my work, me as parent, as well as my relationship. This stemmed as a result of months of frustrations and a bit of unhappiness that came with the fact that there was no balance. I drifted through life. Took everything 1 day at a time and this just took every bit of strength I had in me. I was unhappy, constantly unprepared, and to a certain extend I was loosing confidence in myself. I needed something. Some sort of structure to help me get to a state where my life was well balanced. So I tried things differently. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">PS: You can check out video if you prefer to watch/listen rather than read... <a href="https://youtu.be/t6oe6pmSmp0">https://youtu.be/t6oe6pmSmp0</a></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>I stopped taking work home</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It was so easy for me to just grab my work laptop, take it home with me and try get some work done over the weekend(sometimes during weeknights) at home. Hardly ever spent time with my boyfriend and barely had a moment to myself. All I wanted to do was finish a presentation or map a process or optimize this and fix that. One Friday I left the laptop at work and I had the BEST weekend I've never had in a long time. It wasn't because I was on holiday or out shopping but rather because I was home with my daughter and boyfriend and we got to spend quality time together as a lil family. It might not be an easy thing for you to do but try it and you won't regret it. Never take work home.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>I created a nap time and bed time schedule for my daughter</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This may sound very obvious but to be honest, in my mind, a schedule for my daughter was the last thing I thought I needed. When I was pregnant, I always imagined myself as a mom that had it all together with no schedule for no-one. I imagined having the sweetest lil baby ever and having no struggles with anything. And yes, I have myself thee most sweetest lil angel ever but with this sweetness come a lot of energy and the will power to fight nap times. So i gave it a try. I started to slowly introduce nap time schedule and bedtime schedule as well. It is now a consistent part of our lives. Lil one is at nursery school during the day and takes naps there and we continue with the school's nap time schedule even at home. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Have a set routine for house chores</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A messy house is one thing I cannot stand. To this day I a still trying to learn to let my daughter mess up the house with her toys. It is not easy but it's a learning curve. Make no mistake, I can learn to ignore toys but i doubt I'll ever be able to ignore dirt and dirty dishes around the house. This is where my house chores routine kicks in. Every single night before bed, I always make sure that the dishes are clean and pack away, the floor is swept and all the tables and counters are wiped clean. then on Thursday evenings I go all out. I mop the floors and disinfect everything - which explains why I'm usually tired on Fridays at work. This helps me stay sane knowing that the house is clean and my lil won't be picking up and eating things from the floor.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Have a conversation with your partner</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
More often than not, i've had people tell me that I need to go on a dinner date with my Boyfriend. And so many times I tell them, we don't need a date. Society these days has us believe that the only way you can spend quality time with your partner is when you are on a date outside home. Well, for us this is not the case. We (myself and my Boyfriend) found that we connect much better when we are at home than on a date. So every night we spend 30min to an hour after we get lil one to bed together just talking to each other. Sometime we even just lie down next to each other and we watch a movie. Sometimes we even take naps together. For us going on a date without the lil one is not possible and so we have to make do with the situation.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Never Over promise and Under deliver</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In other words, be REALISTIC. Do not commit to things that you know you won't be able to achieve. This goes for both work and relationship. Don't promise your manager that you'll have a project delivered at a certain time when you know very well that there's constraints. Don't commit to going on a date with your boyfriend and/or partner when you know very well that you might not be able to make it. I always say rather Under promise and Over deliver.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Set some time aside for yourself</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I never used to do this before, I didn't think I needed this. Until the tension on my shoulders grew bigger and bigger. It was starting to hurt to get out of bed at night. My whole body was aching and I had no clue what to do. Then I tried a hot with loads of bubble bath for about 30min to an hour every Sunday once Kbear is in bed for night time. the results are magical. I feel more energetic, less pain, and definitely less tension. Plus I didn't have to go to a spa for a treatment. Yes, it would be nice to go to the spa but right now, it's close to impossible for me to go unless they bring the spa to me. But until then, I am more than happy with my bubble bath. I am able to reflect on my goals and dreams while in the tub. I get to sit and clear my head of all the clutter and I love it. It's super easy, very convenient and extremely relaxing.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
These are my top 6 tips and tricks of how i'm able to balance Being a Mom, Having a full time job, as well as Being in a Relationship. I've had quite a couple of people ask me how I manage to have everything so together. Some even asked if I had a live in Helper. The answer is right here.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hope you enjoyed reading this and I hope you found it helpful as well. Sometimes all it takes is a lil shift of mindset and a lil bit of adjustment to all the small things to have a balanced and happier life. But until next time, Good luck finding the balance you are looking for.</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Myself and My 2year Old Toddler</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There's been times where I found myself starring at my daughter and not knowing what to do with her. Honestly, this was due to lack of planning from my side and as a result, I just let her watch TV. As a full time working mom, who films Daily Vlogs and Ad-hoc videos that I upload on YouTube, life can get very hectic at times to a point where I live on disaster recovery mode. Of course the planner and organizer freak in me wasn't very happy with this so I got up and I looked for ideas to keep my lil one busy. With this mission, Little Activity Buckets were born. I needed something that I'd be able to plan ahead and something that I knew my Kbear would not only love but also enjoy.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So one day, I took her into her playroom and I asked her to give me her favourite toys. Once she was happy with what she gave me, I went back into the playroom, took out all the toys she gave me and put them aside. Then looked through all the ones she didn't pick and came up with ways to make them interesting enough for her to like them. This helped me get her to play with almost all of her toys without putting up a fight. For the longest time she's had toys that she never played with because she just wasn't interested and we were stuck with a playroom filled with toys and no one to play with!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Something to note: I change what I put in the Lil Buckets every week just to keep things interesting and if I do have to use toys from the previous week, I pick a different day.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The little buckets are 1litre capacity,so they are pretty small. But I labelled them Monday through Sunday, which means, there's an activity for each day. This way, I don't have to worry about trying to figure out what to do for the day. You can put in just about anything inside the little buckets or boxes even and just to give you an idea, here are some of the things I put in the buckets:</div>
<ul>
<li>Finger paint</li>
<li>Colouring pencils</li>
<li>Pages to colour</li>
<li>Beads</li>
<li>Small Board Books</li>
<li>Little Tea Cups</li>
<li>Finger Puppets</li>
<li>Puzzles</li>
<li>Flash Cards</li>
<li>Stacking Blocks</li>
<li>Alphabet Letters</li>
<li>Stickers and Little drawings </li>
<li>There are full sized books we use that cannot fit into the buckets as well as stuffed animals for imaginary play.</li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Every day is different and she loves opening her lil buckets to find out what's inside. I try by all means to keep it educational as well as fun. This has been my life and sanity saver. I get to focus at least 30min on prepping dinner while she plays then I join her and we play together. Note, I have nothing against letting my lil one watch TV but I do have a problem with too much TV and very lil activity. I am planning to keep this going for as long as possible but I will change the activities as she grows older to make sure they are age appropriate.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

This has been thee most stressful and frustrating 2 weeks of my life !!!!!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So where have I been? Well, let's just say that technical issues really did get in the way of my blogging life :(. I have been going from pillar to post trying to figure out the settings for my blog URL. Somehow I messes it up and I could not go back to the initial URL. So essentially I was kicked out of my blog :(. Then when I thought things will get better, I got terrible flu and was down for 3 days straight. In those sick days, I did some research on what to do to get into my blog and how to fix the mess I made and yep, I found it. And so here I am, with a brand new custom domain name/URL [www.mommyandbabyapproved.co.za] and I am absolutely happy. I had some a difficult time setting this up and my provider (where I bought the URL) couldn't help me much because I refused to buy hosting services from them... #SoreLoosers LOL</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Anyway, I have managed to fix it all and all is in order and working. Some pretty exciting things happened while I was away. I got a few more subscribers to my YouTube channel [www.youtube.com/nearanddearest], My bf is back home living with us (we visit our house every weekend now), and I have a custom domain for my blog. All very exciting stuff, right!. Now that so much has happened and quite a bit has changed, I will be back on schedule for Mondays and Thursdays blog posts. I hope you have been fantastic and thank you so much for the love and support.</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Myself and My Daughter</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It really is crazy how life works out sometimes! And yes, you read the title right, I am a Single Mom. My Daughter is 2 years old [almost 2 and 1/2 years] and I have been dating her father for 5 years going on 6. We lived together for a little over 2 years and unfortunately he had to move out. And with this, my life got a little bit tilted to the side. I am now Single parenting my Kbear full time and I am crazy exhausted. But through all this exhaustion, I still find time to squeeze in a little baking session with my Lil One :). Truthfully, this is something that we never imagined happen and when it did, both our cages were rattled.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Before we jump into conclusion, let me say that, just because myself and Kbear's Father don't live together anymore does not mean that we have broken up. We are still dating, only difference is that we live apart. See, the thing is, we have a house together that we have been renting out and due to unforeseen circumstances, our tenants had to move out. Because we didn't want to leave the house empty and open to risk of vandalism, My boyfriend had to go back and stay there. To be honest, I feel like this couldn't have come at a much better time. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We both have been so busy with life that we pretty much almost lost touch with ourselves individually and we really needed the time apart to just reflect on our achievements and assess our goals. This might sound crazy because, being a single parent takes up just about every minute of ones time however, with the right schedule one copes just fine - [Post about how I cope will follow soon]. Don't get me wrong, it is still extremely challenging and energy taxing but I am sitting here writing this post at 10pm at night and i'm just fine. My boyfriend visits and spends every weekend with us and we make the best of that time. Only now we realise the value each one of us has been adding to another's life!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But like they say, You never know what you have till it's gone!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm sorry this was a bit of a soppy and personal post. Sometimes I just need to have adult conversations and this is the only place I have to do so. But If you enjoy reading these, be sure to follow my blog on Bloglovin' (https://www.bloglovin.com/mommyandbabyapproved) to get notifications each time I post a blog then sit back and relax because I'm about to shower you with a lot of soppy personal posts. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
However, if you do not enjoy such posts, please just bear with me as I try to wrap my head around my situation and get a grip on being a Single Mom.</div>

Oh My Gosh, I can hardly believe that it is the new year already! 2016! Where did the time go? It literally feels like just last week when I was pretty excited for 2015 and now it is 2016. WOW!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've been thinking about writing this post for 11 days now and to be honest, I didn't want to make it a traditional New Year's Resolution post but I though it would be really not nice to start a year without wish you the very best of luck. [ PS: if you are interested in what my resolutions are for this year, watch this videos - I talk all about them and more here https://youtu.be/-znfp5CxEIk ] . I wish and hope for nothing but the best for you and pray that this year be everything you want it to be and more.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And of course, I need to make a few commitments as usual :) . I will be starting a series or a constant schedule of blogs that I'll be writing and posting on this very blog page. These will range from Mommy stuff - A lot has changed, Toddler life, Baking, Fashion, Travel etc. Pretty much like the tabs at the top shows. There will be a new blog post every Monday and Thursday starting today, since it's Monday :) and this time I promise I am going to be consistent. Not a week will go by where I don't post a blog and I hope you will be riding with me on this journey.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have been thinking about doing this for a little while now but I never really got myself to do it. So here I am, with more than enough time on my hands and I thought....What the heck, I might as well!! :)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I want to share a little bit about how my weekend went. Now, I honestly do not plan my weekends, I like to let....let's say fate (for lack of a better word) take it's cause. This is simply because I'm usually so busy during the week, juggling work, cooking dinner, breakfast, and a very busy 2 year old. So I always go with the flow, with the aim to have fun and maybe relax a little bit.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This past weekend was rather a bit different from all my other weekends. It started off with Black Friday, which I still don't understand to this day. People seriously are willing to stand in queues for hours on end just to save a couple of Rands. I'm not that patient so I don't ever put myself through that. However, this time, I did experience a lil bit of the madness. The route I take to get home after work has a shopping complex and boy was it packed! It took me twice as long to just walk past the store. I was not impressed at all. Anyway, it wasn't until I woke up Saturday Morning to a freezing cold weather that I realized that my weekend will be completely different from all my other weekends. I couldn't do laundry, Kbear slept in a bit longer, Dzee(my bf) couldn't go for his usual morning walk, everyone's schedule was pretty much messed. So we decided to go to church. Very Exciting as we haven't been in quite a while. We all got ready and headed straight to church. As usual, we were a couple of minutes late but like they say, better late than never. The first part of the service was awesome and uplifting however we completely missed the 2nd service. Kbear was not having it and it would've been unfair for me to keep her inside church with all her screaming and crying while other people are trying to listen so we decided to go back home. We are not giving up though. We will continue to go until she gets used to being in church.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sunday was a very interesting day for me. We had a very nice painting session with my Kbear and later I finally got my Me-Time where I painted my nails, watched some comedy and just relaxed. Dzee took Kbear out to his brother's and although I was quite angry with him for coming back home late when he knew very well that it's a school night, I was also very grateful for the time I had with myself. Now, I am starting my week on a high not, with proper planning, a firm schedule, and a very active imagination. I hope you will have a fantastic week as well.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
So I have officially become extremely obsessed with baking cupcakes. To even think that this all started as a way for me to have my me-time and to unwind from the craziness of life!! For a very long time, I wanted to eat lemon cupcakes so badly but unfortunately I could not find them anywhere. So I decided to try and make them myself. Lucky for me, I found Laura Vitale and her incredible recipes and yep, I finally got a chance to bake the yummy cupcakes that i've been wanting for so long. To be honest, I changed the recipe ingredients here and there based on what I had in the fridge and I was absolutely proud of myself.</div>
<br />
<b>What you will need:</b><br />
<b>Lemon Cupcakes Ingredients</b><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>1 & 1/2 Cup all purpose flour</li>
<li>1 Cup sugar (I used Brown Sugar)</li>
<li>1 tsp of Baking Powder</li>
<li>1/4 tsp of Salt</li>
<li>2 Eggs</li>
<li>1/2 Full Cream Milk (Can use low fat)</li>
<li>1/2 Baking Butter</li>
<li>1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence</li>
<li>1 tsp Lemon Juice</li>
<li>2 tsp Lemon Zest</li>
</ul>
<div>
<b>Lemon Flavoured Frosting Ingredients</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Please note that I do not have any specific measurements that I follow to make my frosting. I make sure that I make enough based on how much I need and continue to add more or less until I reach my desired consistence.</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>1/2 Cup Butter (Or less depending on how much frosting you need)</li>
<li>Icing Sugar</li>
<li>Pinch of Salt</li>
<li>Full Cream Milk</li>
<li>1 Tbsp Lemon Juice</li>
<li>1 tsp Lemon Essence</li>
</ul>
<div>
Be sure to watch the video below for instructions / method on how to mix the ingredients. Happy baking and enjoy the treats.</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ56oFp2LT_hENpisqCOrmf5CDbTHf_3qzCV4pWjshmpEJLZkbsPShFNp19uhVL6Vl9OkEn5grktWZfr_6r8VEueoISNBv7jPlSp0l1cWRkbY55Ue-3AuiYIagJjJtOzlT8knESfKEoxQ/s1600/DSC_6559.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ56oFp2LT_hENpisqCOrmf5CDbTHf_3qzCV4pWjshmpEJLZkbsPShFNp19uhVL6Vl9OkEn5grktWZfr_6r8VEueoISNBv7jPlSp0l1cWRkbY55Ue-3AuiYIagJjJtOzlT8knESfKEoxQ/s400/DSC_6559.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So the time has finally come....That long awaited moment where my daughter comes running to me and says "Mommy,toilet" has finally arrived. So to follow suit, I started Potty Training. To be quite honest, I was both terrified and excited at the same time. Terrified because I have never Potty Trained any one before and Excited because now I get to buy cute little toddler underwear :). Of course I had no idea where to begin! I did not know a single thing about Potty Training and I kind of delayed it a little bit because I needed to get myself both intellectually and emotionally ready.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I visited my friend Google and consulted with my Mom and a couple of my friends with Kids. The information was overwhelming but gave me a good kick in the right direction. And so the next thing to do was get all the things I'll need to make the process as smooth and comfortable for the lil one as I possibly can. So I went ahead and bought the Huggies Pants for Girls, the Huggies Slip-Ons, and the Pampers Pants for Girls nappies. These all are pull-up pants and thus far they have truly been a big help in this Potty Training process.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But as the saying goes, *You can't always have the best of everything in one product*!...Wait is that even a saying or did I just make it up?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Anyway, I wanted to write this post so that I can share a little bit of the Pro's and Con's of each of the said Pull-Up Nappy Pants based on my experience thus far.</div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Huggies Nappy Pants for Girls</b></span><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
These nappy pants recently launched in South Africa and I could not have been more happier. They came in just in time for me to test them out as I was about to start the Potty Training Journey with my lil one. With this being said, It only seems fitting for me to start with the Huggies Pants for Girls because we have used them the longest compared to the others. Also because they have Minnie Mouse Prints :) ......Yaaaaaaaay.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Because I'm such a softy, I always like to start with the good stuff as a foundation for the bad stuff so yep, I'm going to start with the Pro's then follow on with the Con's.</div>

*Super cute designs (Minnie Mouse)<br />
*Designed specifically for Girls<br />
*Very nice stretch waist<br />
*Can last up to 12 hours<br />
*Fits very comfortably on Baby/Toddler<br />
*Easy sides tear making nappy change easy<br />
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Con's</span></b><br />
*Possible leaks on the outer parts of the nappy<br />
<br />
I absolutely adore these nappies, they are super adorable, my daughter loves them, they very comfortable however, the one thing I don't like about them is the leak. My lil one's vests are usually moist and smells like urine which to a certain extend is disappointing but I cannot discard these wonderful nappies for just 1 Con. My lil one runs around freely and comfortably in them and when it's time to use the Potty, she just takes them down and pulls them up again when she's done. Pretty amazing, right?<br />
<br />
<b><span style="font-size: large;"> Pampers Pants for Girls</span></b><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I searched for thee longest time for these nappies and after about 2 to 3 four months, I finally found them. I need to say though that I was specifically looking for the Pampers Pants for Girls and I was not willing to purchase the neutral pack just to substitute and this is why it took me this long before I finally found them. Again, these recently launched in South Africa and they have been taking my lil girl's breath away each month :). </div>

<b><span style="font-size: large;">Pro's</span></b><br />
*The have Dora the Explorer prints on them (which is awesome and very age specific for a 2year old)<br />
*Stretchy waist band<br />
*Lasts up to 12 hours and more<br />
*Do not leak<br />
*Designed specifically for girls <br />
*Very comfortable fit on a Baby/Toddler<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><b><span style="font-size: large;">Con's </span></b></span></span><br />
*Elastic material on the waist makes it difficult to tear sides during nappy change<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"></span></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
These are my absolute favourite. I like that my lil one always stays dry even after 12 hours being in the nappy. My lil goober loves to sleep in during the weekend and I love the piece of mind these pull-up pants give me while she sleeps. I don't have to worry about her PJ's being moist/wet from nappy leaking or anything like that.</div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><b><span style="font-size: large;">Huggies Slip-Ons</span></b></span></span><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Can I just say that I had no idea that these pull-up nappies existed. I've always seen them on the store idles when I do my shopping but never cares to give them a second look. This is until I started Potty Training my lil Goober. So I bought them and decided to give them a try and guess what, I kinda like them.</div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><b><span style="font-size: large;">Pro's</span></b></span></span><br />
<br />
*Do not leak<br />
*Lasts up to 12 hours and a lil more<br />
*Cute Winnie the Pooh designs<br />
*Very easy to tear the sides during nappy change<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><b><span style="font-size: large;">Con's </span></b></span></span><br />
*The waist is not very stretchy<br />
*It looks like a normal nappy that's attached on the sides<br />
*They have very pointy corners<br />
*Corners not very comfortable on Baby/Toddler<br />
*Very easy for toddler to take out nappy without assistance <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As much as I like these Huggies Slip-Ons, they do have quite a couple of Con's. I have managed to look past the Con's as I continue to use these nappies because to be quite honest, they are not causing any damage. At first it was quite annoying to have my little one take off her nappy whenever she felt like it but we have stopped that habit. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
These are in my opinion the Pro's and Con's of the above mentioned nappies. I still continue to use them to this day but I'm mostly loving the Pampers Pants for Girls. They are close to impossible to find in stores but every chance I get, I grab it. The Huggies Nappy Pants for Girls are my 2nd favourite and the Huggies Slip-Ons are my least favourite. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I hope this post has been helpful to anyone who's looking for ideas on which Pull-Up pants to use when starting the Potty Training journey. Just remember that I am in no way an expert and simply because this is how I view/experienced these Nappies does not automatically mean that you'll have the same experiences. Have fun during Potty Training and I hope your lil one will enjoy the prints on the Pull-Ups.</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My Favourite Garnier Products</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm a simple person! A little too simple sometimes. I love things that are not complicated and I do not appreciate spending time trying to understand something that not only consumes too much of my time but also doesn't bring any joy in my life. With this being said, I must say that, I really truly appreciate a challenge. And so a little over 3 years ago I challenged myself to learn a bit more about make-up and beauty products. This was just after I turned 22 and I was ready to take the corporate world by storm. I was already on my 2nd job and my career was heading the right direction. To sum it all up, things were looking up. There was just one thing I haven't tried and this was using make-up. So i did what every girl would do! I went shopping for make-up products and I started using make-up every so often but not everyday and boy was it time consuming and difficult!...sigh.. I accepted the challenge with a big smile anyway and turned to the one place we turn to in times of need - The Internet. So a couple of YouTube videos later and very sore eyes (from lack of sleep), I was ready to get started. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To be quite honest I loved it. My skin looked more flawless, thanks to foundation; my eyebrows were more defined, thanks to brow pencil; and my eyes were even bigger - thanks to the miracle working eyeliner. For quite a while all was well until I just couldn't do it anymore. I didn't feel like myself. I hated feeling like I was forgetting what I looked like without foundation on! And most importantly, I just needed my skin to just have a break.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So I decided to quit and embark on a mission to even out my skin tone. I've never had even skin tone and to make matters worse, I have oily skin. Now, if you have uneven skin tone, you know the struggle!!! So it's safe to say that needed some real help. Again I turned to Mr KnowItAll - Google - and researched products that can lend a helping hand. It goes without saying that I chose Garnier Products. Specifically focused on Evening out skin tone. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have been using these for a lil over 2 months and I do not regret it one bit. I can barely remember the last time I applied foundation on my face and I don't even miss it. I now have more time to spare for breakfast in the morning without rushing to put on make-up. Such a relief :). Especially because I have to get both myself and my little one ready in the morning. So these Garner products were my best bet.</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Clarifying Foam / Face Wash</td></tr>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
First I use the Clarifying foam to wash my face. Just a drop on my hands, rub them together and I wash my face. Then a good rinse and that's it. I do this twice daily - in the morning and evening.</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Toner</td></tr>

Then the Even & Matte Toner. Once i'm done washing my face, I follow on using the Garnier Even & Matte toner. This smells so Good and Lemony, it's amazing. It leaves my face feeling 2 times clean each time.<br />

<div>
And then depending on the weather, I use either the moisturiser on the right, or the 8hours oil control cream on the left. In the mornings on a work weekday, I apply the 8hours oil control cream. It helps reduce the oil on my face and in the evenings I apply the moisturiser.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This is one of the best decisions I've ever taken. As much as Make-up is glam, natural is even better. I've never been more confident than I am now. I appreciate my skin more and not having to worry about applying make-up has certainly made me unleash my inner beauty. Though I must say, I can't live without lipstick...LOL...</div>
